Toyota Hilux 2026 Is Coming: Everything You Need to Know Before the July 29 Launch
A refreshed design and advanced features mark the debut of the Toyota Hilux 2026 in India
Mahindra has introduced the BE 6 Sporteq series in India, focusing on upgraded technology, a wider range of customization options, and improved performance features. The pricing for the lineup starts at Rs. 11.45 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Battery as a Service (BaaS) plan, where consumers pay Rs. 3.75 per kilometer for battery charging based on a daily usage assumption of 60 kilometers.
Scheduled deliveries will begin on August 26, 2026, coinciding with the Onam festival. The Sporteq series is available in eight variants, including the prominent Launch Edition and the Formula E Freedom Edition, which emphasize distinctive design and equipment themes. From the Two variant onward, a notable interior upgrade includes the addition of triple screens, enhancing the digital interface of the dashboard compared to the original BE 6 design. Customers who prefer the legacy motorsport-inspired dashboard can opt for the Formula E Freedom Edition, which maintains the dual-screen setup and the signature halo feature.

Inspired by Mahindra Racing’s electric motorsport efforts, the Formula E Freedom Edition stands out as the sportiest model in the lineup. It features the original BE 6 headlamp design, satin exterior finishes, tricolor highlights, and a Black and Firestorm Orange interior. Its dual-screen cockpit combined with the halo design sets it apart from the standard Sporteq models. The exclusive Acceleration Boost cuts 0 to 100 km/h acceleration down to 6.44 seconds. Mahindra Racing has recently achieved notable success, including victories in Monaco and Tokyo races and four pole positions by driver Edoardo Mortara.
Mahindra intends to deploy these advanced software and technology features as over-the-air updates for existing BE 6, XEV 9e, and XEV 9S owners starting January 2027. The availability of specific features will vary depending on the vehicle model and variant, so not all owners may receive every update. Consumers interested in the XEV 9e, one of the models slated for updates, may find it relevant to monitor developments highlighted in the context of incentives and state-level changes, such as those detailed in the recent subsidy adjustments for electric vehicles.
