Maruti Suzuki, India's foremost automaker, has reached a new sales peak by delivering over 2 lakh vehicles in the domestic market during July. This achievement marks the first time any car manufacturer has surpassed the 2 lakh-unit mark in a single month within India. In total, the company dispatched 2,00,123 units domestically last month, a figure that includes 3,920 commercial vehicles.
Overall, Maruti Suzuki’s total shipments for July reached 2,41,421 vehicles, factoring in exports of 30,056 units. This overall performance represents a 33% increase compared to the brand’s July 2025 figures. Once again, the Dzire emerged as the country’s top-selling car for the month.
In terms of retail sales, Maruti Suzuki moved 1,78,000 vehicles—its highest retail figure ever for July. The brand also recorded its best-ever CNG vehicle sales with 83,000 units, alongside the highest monthly sales for its MPV, the Ertiga, at 21,606 units.
The top four best-selling models in July were all Maruti Suzuki offerings: Dzire (23,791 units), Swift (21,538 units), Ertiga (21,606 units), and Fronx (19,473 units). The company further topped its own production records, manufacturing 2,48,845 vehicles during the same month.
Speaking to the press, Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer of Marketing & Sales at Maruti Suzuki, announced that the company currently holds around 1.60 lakh pending bookings. He also noted strong consumer interest in the newly released Brezza facelift, which is attracting nearly 2,000 bookings each day. Demand is spread evenly across all three powertrain options—Turbo, NA Petrol, and CNG.
Additionally, Maruti Suzuki reported that its first electric vehicle, the e Vitara, is receiving approximately 4,000 bookings each month.
Maruti Suzuki sold 2,00,123 vehicles in the Indian domestic market in July, including 3,920 commercial vehicles.
